Roses are red

This old timey rose was here when we moved in but only one stem; now it is quite large and this year it is putting on a beautiful display of red. I am hoping to transplant it to our property or one of the smaller ones that have come up near it. It is a shame that it blooms just once but the show it puts on is well worth the yearly wait to see. I LOVE roses! Scott calls them briars.

CATS!

"Little Nickie", "Mr. Tesla" and "Tara" doing what they do best; especially right after their breakfast.

Deltec Homes

Scott and I attended a Deltec Homes Workshop this past weekend and are ready to have one built on our property. We just have to get this house ready to sell. Our plan is to sell anything without a real function or connection to us over the next 11 months to "empty" the house a good bit. And then next March we plan to put this place on the market. LOTS to do in 11 months but we will do our best to move forward with our plans. We are looking at having a 1200 square foot Deltec put on our 10 acres. Just big enough for two to live in on a regular basis and then a visitor every now and then. I've been playing around with their graph paper layout and have a house drawn up all ready. Scott and I will probably move the walls and such about over the next 11 months on paper and then present our own drawing to Deltec to put into blueprint plans. We love the look and strength of these round homes. http://www.DeltecHomes.com

Greg's Dodge pillowcases

I finally got around to making Greg's cases with the new pattern/instructions and I think they turned out GREAT! Greg loves them.

Amelia's picture

When she saw me take Little Nickie's picture she started fussing so I told her if she'd sit I'd take her picture; so here she is striking a pose.

Surprises in the garden

The dainty pink primrose has spread everywhere that it's roots and seeds would take it. Scott has pulled a good bit up but I asked him not to pull the largest mass of plants and these are the blooms I found this morning. Little Nickie was also in the garden. The electric wire we put around the garden to keep Amelia (dog) out doesn't seem to bother him one bit he just walks right past it.

A little me

My first attempt at making a doll with a face and a theme. legs and hands definitely need improvements on the next try... IF I try again! I'll be shipping this doll to my swap partner in the UK... her doll is gorgous but she makes dolls all the time. I almost feel like I'm cheating her as mine is so "beginner"; but at least I gave it atry! Right?

Something about a fat orange cat

Nothing says comfort like a fat orange cat! Too bad this one is not a cuddle kitty. He will climb in bed with us when we are sick as long as their is no chance that we will actually hold him. I was taking pictures of the pillow cases that I've been making and he jumped up to grab a shot... camera hound!

All Thumbs

Have you ever had a day where you were all thumbs? LOL! This is a picture of Greg's cats' feet. Little Nickie has 6 toes! He is such a cute fluffy werid walkin' cat! Greg rescued him after someone dumped him out of the car in front of Greg. We couldn't say no when he brought the kitten home. Just too cute to pass up!

Easter

Less than a week until Easter now. YEAH! Perhaps the Easter merchandise will fly off the floor this week so that we can get more summer entertaining stuff to the floor. Always lots to do.

Our yard needs some attention... BADLY! But I just can't get motivated to get out there and do any of it these days. Perhaps Sunday after dinner we can get out there and clean up some and burn off all those calories we will be eating. My Mother-in-law is expecting a house full this year. Should be interesting to say the least.

I made a doll and she turned out pretty good all in all. I'll post a picture as soon as I can get a battery for the camera. It's a "Little Me"... all dressed up as a JoAnn Fabrics employee. Quite cute I think. I'll be trading her for another doll that someone else has created. I wonder where that doll will come from as this exchange is with the INternational Friendship Quilters and people from all over the world are signed up for this exchange. I'm thinking about putting together a little book for the person that sends it to me of her doll visiting places in SC and then mail the book back to her. Might even share that idea with the group to see if anyone else would be interested in doing the same.

Well the timer is ringing so the chicken pie must be done.YUMMY!

Take a week off.....

WHEW! Boy am I working hard to make-up for taking that week off! The store is starting to look a bit better now but boy oh boy was it a mess when I returned to work Tuesday! The stock-room was awful! I always feel like "why on earth did you take a whole week off?" when I go back and see what hasn't gone on in my absence. WHEW! It didn't help that I left the new girl in charge of the stockroom and she still has so much to learn about getting freight out and she needs to build up her strength and stamina. In time she will get faster -at least that is what I am hoping.

Scott is having an equally ruff return to work with lots of meetings and problems to resolve. They made him get a passport so I'm sure as soon as it gets here he will be doing a LOT more traveling. YUCK! We both so want to pay things off, sell this house and get moved out to our 10 acres! We have plans to put the house on the market next March and take things from there. This house needs a LOT of work and we need to get started on it NOW! I think I will talk with Scott this morning about finsihing out the laundry room first and get it looking realy nice. And then we will work on sprucing up the bathrooms. I figure starting with the smaller rooms first would be a good idea. Got to get some things down on paper and on a schedule so that we and the house will be ready by next March!

Another year nearly gone...

Hello to all those that have followed this blog for some time. I have not posted in quite awhile so thought I would pop over and write some...
